SriRangam Renganathar Temple

Srirangam Renganath Temple

The Srirangam Temple of the Ranganatha has seven round prisons with 21 towers.

The history of the temple dates back to the period between the 14th and 17th centuries.

The temple history says that the temple was built in the reign of the Cheras, Pandyas, Cholas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara rulers.

The Raja Tower was built in the southern part of the temple built in 1987. Its height is 73 meters.

This is the tallest tower in India. The main deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu, Perumal.

However, the Muslim population crosses religious differences in the temple. After the collapse of the Vijayasagar kingdom, the majority of Muslims came to this temple and worshiped God.
